Jan Froehlich
Phys 111
Hi! I’m Jan Froehlich.
I’m the “senior” tutor at Wintrode. My degrees are in
Civil Engineering and Industrial Management. I was a
faculty member in the College of Engineering for a long
time. After resigning in 2001, I began tutoring just
because I have fun working with students and wanted to
pay for gas to drive into Brookings to have lunch with
friends. Besides being an avid reader and belonging to
2 book clubs at the public library, I volunteer for Red
Cross Disaster Relief and Habitat for Humanity. I’ve
done disaster relief after Hurricanes Katrina, Ernesto
and Gustav and the Great Plains tornados and floods. I
have also gone Habitat for Humanity home building in
Biloxi, MS. And, yes, I can sleep on a cot in a room
with 200 snoring people!
Certification:
