Associate of Arts in General Studies: This 2 year degree program allows students to take 30 Board of Regents credits and 34 elective credits.  The associate’s degree program provides a foundation of general education course along with any elective course work.  This degree is designed for students who want to achieve their educational goals in a short amount of time.

Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies - The Interdisciplinary Studies major is designed for students who have a personal and/or professional goal that cannot be met by an established major on campus. In addition to completing the core requirements and other graduation requirements of the University, the student must complete 40 credits of courses which accomplish the attainment of a uniquely defined goal.

Bachelor of Applied Technical Science - Students who have completed an Associate of Applied Science degree in a technical field from one of South Dakota’s four technical institutes or an out of state technical institute and have discovered that a bachelor’s degree would help advance in their career, achieve higher job satisfaction, and earn a higher salary, will want to look into this degree. Five specializations are available in this program: Applied Agriculture, General Technology, Industrial Sales, Industrial Supervision, and General Supervision.

Leadership Minor - The 18-credit undergraduate leadership minor in the College of General Studies is an interdisciplinary and multi-dimensional program which the student will explore and experience multiple frameworks of leadership. The minor prepares students for real-life leadership experience, both on-campus and in the large, global communities.  Leadership development will relate to student aspirations as they transition from the on-campus extracurricular services to professions, communities, and public and private organizations. By completing the minor, students will acquire skills and abilities to serve as competent leaders as they transition to life after graduation from South Dakota State University.
